The group
Founded in 2012 and headquartered in New Delhi, Mishra United Group operates across technology, oil and gas, automotive, real estate and corporate travel — and builds the systems those businesses run on rather than waiting for someone to sell them to us.
Five platforms, each with its own customers, management and operating rhythm, held under one balance sheet. On the customer side they are genuinely unrelated. What connects them is duration and the willingness to operate rather than merely own.
The group applies one screen to every deal: never own something you cannot run yourself. It is the reason we operate our offshore interests rather than holding them passively, keep facilities management in-house at Twosqft, and build our own software rather than buying a platform we would then depend on and could not change.
It is also the reason the group has said no far more often than yes. An asset we cannot staff, understand and be accountable for is not a cheap asset; it is someone else's problem with our name on it.
Every platform here produces the same underlying difficulty: an operational record scattered across spreadsheets, inboxes and disconnected tools, which somebody eventually has to sign. Solving it once for our own offshore operation produced SubseaCore, which now runs for operators and contractors outside the group.
That is the pattern we look for: an internal necessity that turns out to be a product because the problem was never ours alone.
Globally. Crews, cargo and contracts do not stop at a border, so neither does the way we are set up — one system of record and one set of controls, wherever the work is. The head office is at Connaught Place, New Delhi.
The group publishes a small number of dated commitments rather than a broad statement of intent, covering emissions, renewable supply for plants and platforms, water at operated sites, and skills. They are listed on the home page with the year each falls due.
The five platforms
“We are paid for patience, not for prediction.”
How we decide
01
If we cannot staff and be accountable for it, it is not cheap — it is someone else's problem with our name on it.
02
Duration is the only thing the five platforms have in common.
03
If the operating record sits in software we cannot change, we do not control the business.
04
The rule has produced far more refusals than acquisitions.
Questions
In 2012. The group is fourteen years old and is headquartered at Connaught Place, New Delhi.
Five: technology, oil and gas, automotive, real estate and corporate travel. Each operates as its own business with its own customers, under a shared balance sheet and one set of operating controls.
No. The group is privately held.
Duration, and the willingness to operate rather than merely own. A production system, an offshore block, a blending plant, a travel programme and a let building all ask an owner the same question: can you fund it through a decade nobody enjoys?
